iPhone for those of you who know little about this device is a multimedia/Internet-enabled phone announced by Apple CEO Steve Jobs during the keynote address at the Macworld Conference & Expo on January 9, 2007. The iPhone has a scheduled US release date of June, 2007. Though, speculation says June 11th is more accurate.iPhone has a planned launch price of US$499 for the 4 GB model and $599 for the 8 GB model, based on a two-year service contract. The iPhone’s functions include those of a mobile telephone, camera, a multimedia player, and Internet services like e-mail, text messaging, web browsing and wireless connectivity. iPhone input is accomplished via touchscreen with and buttons. The iPhone is a quad-band GSM phone, though Jobs mentioned in his keynote that Apple has a “plan to make 3G phones” in the future. Apple has filed over 200 patents related to the technology behind the iPhone.
If you wish to purchase an iPhone, I would be glad to discuss a plan of attack on the day of release with you.
iPhone has so many attractive features, it is almost impossible to list them all. So, I will list some bad features about it.
This is an awesome product, but as any it does have its flaws…
- No 3g (or HSDPA as it is properly called)
- Price (depending on how much you have, and how bad you would feel if you dropped it or it got stolen… a thing to think about)
- No 3rd party apps… (how bout that Microsoft?)
- No word
- No power point
- No excel
- Which also means no open source, BLAH!
In the end it is up to the buyer to decide if he/she wants to buy the product. Heres my decision. the iPhone has many great features; but knowing apple, they will always make a better product soon after the release of one. The only problem is that that product may not be released to the USA because we are so technologically delayed. If it does get here, I will proceed with the knowledge of how apple does business. Knowing this (and when the new one will be released), I will buy the first one and return it within the 30 days they allow me to test the product, and then return it for a full refund and a cancellation of the contract. After that, when the second release comes I will look over its features and possibly repeat the procedure if better news is on the horizon, or keep the product. The second version comes out close to my birthday..yea! You may proceed as you like, or follow my example.
