Yep. Not much to be said here. Only that During the “mum is no longer the word” event it was made official that the UK is not getting 3g and will be getting O2 as a carrier. What a disappointment. Oh well, at least Steve didn’t drop the price again. Oh, and it will be available on the 9th of November.

Well as most of you know there was some disappointing news for the early adopters of the iPhone. The price dropped $200, and they discontinued the 4 GB model. I was very upset to hear this yesterday, but it looks like Apple appreciates all of those who waited in line, and will be giving them a $100 gift card, which to me is just as good as money cause the only thing I want right now is one of the new iPods. Also I have had an iPhone for two months longer than the people who will be getting it cheaper and I had a fun time with it. I certainly think a $100 dollar loss is fair and OK by me. Thank you Apple!!!

In a letter to the early adopters Mr. Jobs explains the reasons:

To all iPhone customers:

I have received hundreds of emails from iPhone customers who are upset about Apple dropping the price of iPhone by $200 two months after it went on sale. After reading every one of these emails, I have some observations and conclusions.

First, I am sure that we are making the correct decision to lower the price of the 8GB iPhone from $599 to $399, and that now is the right time to do it. iPhone is a breakthrough product, and we have the chance to ‘go for it’ this holiday season. iPhone is so far ahead of the competition, and now it will be affordable by even more customers. It benefits both Apple and every iPhone user to get as many new customers as possible in the iPhone ‘tent’. We strongly believe the $399 price will help us do just that this holiday season.

Second, being in technology for 30+ years I can attest to the fact that the technology road is bumpy. There is always change and improvement, and there is always someone who bought a product before a particular cutoff date and misses the new price or the new operating system or the new whatever. This is life in the technology lane. If you always wait for the next price cut or to buy the new improved model, you’ll never buy any technology product because there is always something better and less expensive on the horizon. The good news is that if you buy products from companies that support them well, like Apple tries to do, you will receive years of useful and satisfying service from them even as newer models are introduced.

Third, even though we are making the right decision to lower the price of iPhone, and even though the technology road is bumpy, we need to do a better job taking care of our early iPhone customers as we aggressively go after new ones with a lower price. Our early customers trusted us, and we must live up to that trust with our actions in moments like these.

Therefore, we have decided to offer every iPhone customer who purchased an iPhone from either Apple or AT&T, and who is not receiving a rebate or any other consideration, a $100 store credit towards the purchase of any product at an Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store. Details are still being worked out and will be posted on Apple’s website next week. Stay tuned.

We want to do the right thing for our valued iPhone customers. We apologize for disappointing some of you, and we are doing our best to live up to your high expectations of Apple.

Apple CEO

Well, unfortunately I was at school when all of this great news was announced, but in today’s special keynote, some new things were introduced. This is one of the most amazing line of products I have seen in a long time. Some of them include a new version of iTunes, new iPods, and much more. I will not ruin the surprise, go to Apple’s website for all the juicy info. Here are some pictures to gaze at. WOW!!!

I Hate Waiting!

Remember Livescribe, the amazing company that should have its smart-pen out in a few months? Well it looks like they changed the release date from q. 3 to sometime in January of next year. I was waiting for this product to approach the market for a while and I was even displeased how I had to go just a few months into school without one. Now it looks like I will have to do my whole first semester lacking a smartpen (my io2 got stolen). Unless they are working on some kind of iPhone integration with Apple (I emailed them with this thought), I am sad to say I am a bit disappointed in them. Hey, but kudos to you if you are working with apple, Livescribe.

There is a new game on the internet. It has an out-of-the box strategy for getting people to play it… it pays YOU to play it.

The concept is simple. Moola will “generously” give you your first penny free. Once this penny is acquired, use it to play a game (against another person). Win the game to double your money to 2 cents. Lose? That’s ok they will give you another cent. The point is to keep winning and doubling your money until you get to 10 million dollars. Just win 30 times in a row to get the 10 million dollar jackpot. Seems simple enough, but as you progress through the levels opponents will get harder.

There are 3 games: rock paper scissors, hi/lo, and gold rush. I am not going to explain them, because they are easy to learn. Though these games are luck, increase your odds by checking out these:

  • Gold rush notepad ( to keep an eye on what pieces your opponent has)
  • Hi/lo percentage calculator (to understand the percent chance of playing either hi or low)
  • Gold rush program (to cheat and have a computer make your choices for you), it can lose, so don’t use it 100% of the time. I win more times than the program. lol.

Don’t expect to win much, maybe $500 at most. Because of the simplistic style of game play it is addicting, but don’t lose your mind. That’s why I suggest you play this game only when you have nothing better to do. Let’s keep things in perspective people!

Oh yea, because it is in beta form, it requires an invite…where?

Right here. I’m so cool. Hope this helps to pay for your iPhone.

They are here! They look amazing. I would get one right now if I werent waiting for leopard. Go check out Gizmodo for the live blog and all details.

Well, as some of you may know a firmware update appeared last night. This update had no new features, just fixes. All of those who own an iPhone will notice that annoying bugs are gone. Bugs that make safari crash and that stop the iPod from playing in safari. This is great. No more little annoyances. It really sucks to be playing with your iPhone and have a crowd around you and then have safari crash. People start making comments like, “That’s why I didn’t buy the first gen, because it has too many bugs.” Comments like those make me annoyed, because they think they are smart in not purchasing it, when really they don’t know about software updates. Anyways, it’s out and it fixes security issues as well as annoyances. Thank you Apple!

There is an amazing app for the iPhone that must be used to be enjoyed. I am not going to tell you anymore about it, just get on over to the app of the week section and check it out.

Sound Quality: The sound quality is probably the worst part of the device. Although it can be extremely crisp and clear at times, when it is bad it sounds like radio static. During a conversation some parts of a sentence may be cut off. It is bad both on both sides of the line.

Comfort: This is defiantly one thing that this device has going for it. For some the iPod headphones are uncomfortable. For those of you who like the iPod headphones this is a plus. Continue Reading »

Revived!

I have neglected this blog for a few weeks because other things have taken my time lately. The good new is that this blog will be active again very soon. Some exciting new features will be added including a web app section (promote your apps here or they will be marked as spam), a review on the iphone itself and the bluetooth headset which I aquired yesterday. Also there will be a questions section in which you can ask me questions and I will answer them; you can ask about cases, accesories, or even questions on the phone itself. There will still be the main page with news about hacks, tricks, bugs, firmware, and how apple is doing after the release of the iPhone.

YES! The blog is revived!
